MT Server has crossed another important line in its alpha work. The current Phase 2 guided setup has now completed the full offline deployment path we have been working toward: graphical setup, guarded storage enrollment, application deployment, authenticated local access, reboot recovery and a clean convergence rerun.
What was actually proven
On the disconnected proof machine, the graphical Retry installation path completed successfully after a storage-identity bug was fixed. The installed system brought up all 11 selected/support containers, kept its family and backup storage mounted across reboot, preserved the same storage identities and application state, and passed authenticated dashboard and local-route checks without gaining a default Internet route.
The same offline installer was then run again against the already-configured system. It completed with zero changes, which is the convergence result we wanted: once MT Server is correctly installed, rerunning setup should not tear things apart or replace working state.
Release-candidate media is taking shape
We have also built a fresh Basic release-candidate installer and offline payload from the corrected source. The current payload contains 198 checksummed files, 11 OCI application images and the local package/app material needed for the disconnected install. Repository validation, 546 automated tests, Ansible lint and media-integrity checks are passing.
The physical USB acceptance test is the next gate. That test still matters: the successful Phase 2 run was a bounded engineering proof on a disposable VM that had received controlled test interventions, so we are not calling the release finished until a fresh machine can boot the new media and complete the process without those interventions.
That is a much nicer place to be than a week ago. The installer, guided setup, storage safety rules and offline application deployment are now behaving like parts of one system instead of separate experiments. We are getting close to the point where the question becomes less “can this work?” and more “can a normal person install it cleanly from the stick?”
