ChaosLedger

ChaosLedger records operational mistakes, changes, delays, and rework — then shows what they actually cost.

Stop guessing what chaos costs. Something went wrong? Record it, attach the proof, calculate the impact, and build a history.

Android Preview Release

ChaosLedger 0.1.0 Preview is now available as a standalone Android app. It runs locally on the device, stores incident data and evidence locally, and does not require a Linux server, cloud account, analytics service, or outside API.

What ChaosLedger Does

  • Records customer, vendor, and internal incidents.
  • Tracks job, PO, or project references and incident categories.
  • Calculates labor, material, freight, outside-service, downtime, and miscellaneous costs.
  • Records production delay hours.
  • Stores photos and supporting documents with the incident.
  • Builds a searchable history by source, job, category, status, and date.
  • Creates printable incident and summary reports.

Why It Exists

Most businesses know when a late change, bad specification, damaged shipment, internal mistake, or rush order caused trouble. What often gets lost is the actual cost. ChaosLedger is designed to turn those events into a documented record instead of a guess remembered weeks later.

Local-First by Design

The current build runs locally and stores its data in a local SQLite database. It does not require a cloud account, analytics service, or outside API to do its core job.

Tested Beyond a Toy Demo

The Android release has been tested on an Android 37 emulator with real incident entry, SQLite persistence, attachments, history and detail views, signed update installs, and native PDF export. The $1,142 reference incident was verified end to end, and the release build completes Android lint with zero issues.

Current Scope

ChaosLedger is intentionally not an ERP, CRM, accounting package, task manager, or workflow system. Its job is narrower: document what happened, keep the evidence, calculate the operational impact, and make that history easy to retrieve later.

Release Status

Current status: Android 0.1.0 Preview release. The download package contains the signed APK, its SHA-256 checksum, and a short install note. Android 8.0 or newer is required.
