Whimsy started with personality quizzes built around one very serious scientific question:
How much of a menace are you, really?
Now it has another problem for you.
Knowledge & Trivia is live.
The new section adds 10 trivia quizzes with 200 scored questions altogether, giving Whimsy a second whole category alongside the original Personality & Chaos quizzes.
These are actual trivia quizzes. You answer the questions, get scored, and receive a result at the end.
Naturally, Whimsy still refuses to behave like a respectable testing institution.
Results can be shared, saved as graphics, or copied to send to somebody else. Shared quiz links are also designed to bring the next person into a fresh quiz instead of simply dumping them onto somebody else's completed result.
Behind the scenes, that meant building more than just ten new quiz pages. The new collection includes 210 possible result pages and 210 matching share graphics, so each score has something appropriate to show and share.
Whimsy is growing into its own little corner of DPD
The site now has separate areas for:
- Personality & Chaos
- Knowledge & Trivia
- Whimsy Apps
The Apps section is also home to our stranger little games and experiments, including Firefly Jar, Paw Chase, Goose Trouble, Fern, and Drift.
None of this is pretending to be productive.
That's rather the point.
Whimsy is for the five-minute break, the ridiculous result you send somebody because it reminds you of them, the trivia score you absolutely did not expect, and the occasional argument over who actually knows more.
