So I’ve parlayed a couple of mobile laptops, NAS drives, a router and switch into a working server. The majority of it has been free at this point, i did buy new Ethernet cables, and an 8 port switch totaling under $50. Now i have to get access from outside, so, i buy my domain back for $10.50. Now i can build a site that allows access to my Nextcloud, and have other stuff there too. Like my old PDF library, and a few subdomains for the fam.
All the software i have used to this point is free, although some do require accounts.
My next few posts will be on the hardware used, and the software used, as well as how its all structured.
